Rising Menu Prices: Chipotle is raising menu prices by roughly 5% to 7% in markets that didn't already experience increases last year, according to a report from CNBC, which also found that prior to price hikes that occurred in April and November of last year, the fast-food giant "hadn't raised prices at any of its locations since mid-2014." Per eMarketer Retail's companies database, Chipotle's comparables grew 1.0% in Q3 2017. 

New Concept: Dunkin' Donuts unveiled a new concept store at its Quincy, Massachusetts location, which includes an exclusive mobile ordering drive-thru. Members of its DD Perks loyalty program can order ahead via the Dunkin' mobile app and track the status of their orders. According to our companies database, Dunkin' Donuts' comparables decreased 0.1% in Q3 2017. 

Mobile for the Holidays: A new analysis of data from Adobe Analytics found that US consumers forked over $108.2 billion online over the recent holiday season, an increase of 14.7% from 2016's figure. In addition, consumers spent about a third of that total, or $35.9 billion, via a smartphone or tablet. Adobe also found more than half of traffic to retail websites came from mobile devices.
