Sales slid at two luxury brands, Michael Kors and Ralph Lauren, but both companies said results for the latest quarter were helped by a reduction of discounts. North American ecommerce sales at Ralph Lauren fell 22% in the quarter, and new CEO Patrice Louvet said online partnerships are in the works, and deeper integration with Amazon could be possible. Michael Kors reported revenue in Asia jumped by 60.2% in the quarter, reflecting its acquisition of the company that had licensed the Michael Kors brand in China....  Same-store sales at CVS declined 2.6% in the latest quarter. It cited lighter customer traffic as one factor for the decline....  According to a survey by SheerID and Agile Education Marketing, K-12 teachers in the US spend an average of $468 of their own money each year on classroom supplies. The survey found that 49% prefer to do their shopping online, while only 22% prefer in-store shopping.  (The rest had no preference either way.)... Non-food ecommerce sales in the UK grew by 8.3% in July compared to the same month last year, according to the latest BRC–KPMG Retail Sales Monitor. That's off from the pace in June.
